about

I’ll do anything. I’ll go where I don’t want to go, I’ll hang out with people I hate, I’ll change my hair style, my religion - Whatever. I’ll do what it takes, just don’t leave me! Guitarists Alex Lowe and Steve Hudson (in Scotland) helped me get the right flavor of despair for this song about the blackness of separation.

lyrics

Where tears meet the river,
where the rubber meets the road
I sit contemplating on the good things I have know’d
while Romeo and Juliet pass by inside the fog
Peter turns to Jesus,
and says ‘boy it’s gonna be a slog’
But Don’t Leave me now

I’ve got so much on the burner,
so much I have to say
But every time that elephant is standing in the way
So I grit my teeth, I hold my peace,
I put my tongue into my cheek
I close my eyes and count the sheep at the ending of the day
Don’t Leave me now
- whatever you do

There was pride, there was passion.
There was Bogey and Bacall
I squinted through a keyhole and I tiptoed down a hall
And I’ve listen through a stethoscope
and I’ve heard the rushing wind
I’ve looked inside a universe where Judas never sinned
but Don’t Leave me now
- whatever you do

Do I, or do I not cast a shadow on this wall?
Is there somewhere we can meet without the altar call?
Cos when I need something special,
when I’m needing something true
just to hear you breathing in and out is all I have to do
so Don’t Leave me now
